FIRE RATED DOOR & WINDOWS SYTEMS APPROVED TO AS1530.4 supplied by Australasia Fire & Security
Please note: the fire rating applies to the system itself, not the frame or the glass
In order to assess the most suitable fire-rated system for your building, you must identify the required Fire Resistance Level (FRL) that meets the relevant section of the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
The FRL determines the fire rating classification, represented by 3 different numbers as X/Y/Z:
- X = structural adequacy (always 0 or “-” for doors and windows
- Y = the integrity (the ability to restrict flames)
- Z = insulation (the ability to restrict the passage of thermal heat, thereby providing a safe environment for people while also preventing fire spread via flash-over).
These 3 ratings are tested via the Australian Standard 1530.4.
- Insulated door and window systems with a fire rating from -/30/30 through to -/120/120
- Non insulated door and window systems with a fire rating from -/30/- through to -/120/
For individual framing systems that CAN be used for fire protection when used with an approved glass type
For the TPS range of fire resistant glass that CAN be used for fire protection when used with an approved frame type
