Forster Unico is a unique system for thermally insulated windows, doors, awning windows, fixed glazing and turn/tilt windows. It is a system manufactured from  100% recyclable steel, with no insulating materials.

It uses smart fastening techniques to achieve extremely narrow profile cross-sections that were not possible before with insulated profiles.

Forster Unico is the perfect solution for listed industrial buildings or old buildings being renovated.

The Forster Unico system features three different types:

• forster unico: for constructions with thermal break, for fire protection, burglary-resistance and bullet proof
• forster unico HI: for highly thermally insulated constructions 
• forster unico XS: ultra slim profiles for windows and fixed glazings with excellent thermal insulation

Forster Unico Hi presents all the benefits of standard Forster Unico systems with higher insulation parameters due to a different seal combination, making it ideal for selective residential applications.

As the latest technology in heat insulationg windows, doors and fixed screen, Forster Unico Hi offers energy efficiency, attractive designs and the responsible, sustainable use of materials in the construction industry.

Forster Unico Hi can achieve a -/30/- fire resistant level that meets the Australian Building Code requirements for glazing in Flame Zone (FZ) bushfire areas.

Available in mild steel and stainless steel sections, this profile system can be finished with paint, powder coating, or hot dip galvanising.

Simplicity and efficiency

• Complient with the latest heat protection requirements for windows and doors, e.g. EnEV 2009 (DE) and SIA 380/1 (CH) for Uw values under 1.3 W/(m2.K). 
• Structural depth of 88 mm; can be integrated with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing up to 60 mm – for Uw values of up to 0.9 W/(m2.K).
• Only two extra components are needed to convert Forster Unico into a very efficient heat insulating Forster Unico Hi element. 
• Ecological design: made of 100% steel, no plastic insulators or fillings in the profile sections.
• Compatible with Forster fire and smoke protection systems

• Burglary resistant RC 1-3 as per EN 1627-30 for windows, doors and fixed screens
• Burglar resistance RC 4 acc. to EN 1627 for fixed glazings
• Bullet resistant Class FB4 as per EN 1522 for windows, doors and fixed screens
• Thermal insulation Forster unico: Uw > 1.4 W/(m2.K)
• Thermal insulation unico Hi: Uw bis 0.9 W/(m2.K)
• All system applications certified according to EN 14351-1 (CE marking)
• Fire resistance up to -/30/- AS1530.4
• Sound insulation up to 47 dB
• Universal Design Finger protection door with flush floor treshold for barrier-free accessibility
